July's Project-A-Day Challenge!

I am a lazy person and a procrastinator by nature. I would rather curl up with a book or a magazine than do anything. So this summer has been all about getting things done and not indulging myself until after 9:00 pm. This last week I have been aiming and succeeding at doing at least one thing a day that I would consider a project or something that I would normally procrastinate doing.

You know what? I have been very thrilled with this. So much so that I am asking you to join me!

I want to get as much done in July as I can. July is my "quiet" month in the summer and I need to get the maximum amount of things done that I can. The weekends I cram as much as possible into, but weekdays are my major downfall. I leave home about 7:00 am every morning and get home around 5:00 pm every afternoon. By the time I get home, make or plan supper, and take care of any kids' needs, I am ready to call the day.

This last week I have been pushing to do at least one or more things every day. I call this project-a-day challenge, but really it is about getting something done every day. I usually make sure I do something relating to prepping, self-sufficiency, homesteading, home maintenance, gardening, natural living, or food storage. I have binders full of ideas if I run out of things on my to-do lists. I just want to get things done!

However, I have a twist to this for you. My projects this month have to be no cost or very low cost. I have another name for July. I call it "broke" month and with senior pictures and a school trip this month, we will be broke! I am going to use the motto, "Use it up, wear it out, make do or do without!" Another good saying would be "Reduce, reuse, recycle!"

Think you can do this?

If you want an idea of what I am talking about, this is what I did my last week:
Monday: Weeded the strawberries and daylilies
Tuesday: **Can't remember!!**
Wednesday: Built chicken roost
Thursday: Weeded and mulched blueberry bushes; Went to Dane's last ball game
Friday: Made 9 pints of strawberry jam and dehydrated the rest of the strawberries
Saturday: Day of rest, spent the day with family
Sunday: Made bread, banana bread, hung Dane's white board, covered the windows in the well room/root cellar
Monday: Sprayed tomatoes for blight; Made DIY Liquid Castile Soap (from Backdoor Survival - so easy!)

Let me know in the comments section if you would like to join me. Please feel free to share this challenge with others. Every Monday, I will post what projects I did every day and I invite you to do the same either by leaving a comment or linking to your blog post.

Join me in July for the Project-A-Day Challenge!

Thanks for reading (and participating)!
